Our kayaks are Coast Guard approved up to 300 lbs. Riders over 250 lbs. will be outfitted with an inflatable kayak for comfort and safety. Due to insurance requirements, no exceptions can be made.
Absolutely! Children ages 5–12 are welcome and will ride in a tandem kayak with a parent or guardian. Children's pricing is $74.50 + tax. If booking with kids, please call us at 800-478-4711 to reserve your spot — children cannot be booked online.
You'll spend approximately 2.5–3 hours on the water, covering 3.5 miles of scenic Verde River. Total trip time including the shuttle from our base of operations is about 3.5 hours.
Not at all! Our sit-on-top kayaks are designed to be stable and user-friendly. Your guide will give you all the instruction you need before hitting the water. We welcome first-timers and experienced paddlers alike.
Wear athletic shoes or river shoes (no flip flops — they'll fall off!), quick-drying clothing, a sun hat, and plenty of sunscreen. Bring a change of clothes for after the trip. You may get wet — it's part of the fun!
Please arrive 45 minutes before your scheduled departure. For example: arrive at 10:15 AM for an 11:00 AM launch. We cannot return for late arrivals once a trip has departed, as we have fixed river launch windows. We'll do our best to reschedule if you miss your window.
All trips depart from our base of operations at the Tuzigoot River Access Point in Clarkdale, AZ. We provide shuttle service to and from the river, so you won't need to worry about car logistics.
